Overall A decent title. The combat is basically everything that you've come to expect from a Kirby game, with one key difference. You don't swallow enemies. That's right, instead the game focuses on a class system with a total of 4 different classes. The classes provided are: Beam Mage, Hammer Lord, Sword hero, and Doctor Healmore. Each of these classes mimics a power-up from the Kirby franchise. The Beam Mage basically grants you the beam power-up with a gimmick, if you charge up your beam, you can freeze the enemy. The hammer lord gives Kirby the power of his famous hammer, this character offers the most damage but has very slow movement speed. The sword hero (my favorite) offers the classic sword ability to Kirby, this is the easiest class to get into, his special ability turns his block into a giant shield that your allies can go under. Doctor Healmore is a little lackluster but its basically your healer class, it can charge up a healing pad that your allies can then walk through to heal up.
Your team is comprised of four members, you start of with two, but you very quickly get the others. The core gameplay basically boils down to a Kirby boss fight simulator. You select an area and fight bosses until you reach the finale, an ordeal. Ordeals generally feature a more iconic boss-fight, the first of which being whispy woods. Through the first three areas of the game, each with about 5 fights, you can manage pretty well without having to worry about resources. After that gear starts to become very expensive. There is no premium currency, so all of the games items are completely earnable, however it becomes such a grind fest, you have to fight those same bosses over, and over. I Had some left over eShop credit, so I decided to fork over a couple bucks to help move the game along. For 2 dollars I got around 100 gem apples (the games main currency). This purchase came with a bonus, 15 gem apples every day i log into the game. This gave me a new incentive to go in every day, however even with all of these apples, I ran out of the games other currency, fragments. These fragments come in three elemental variants and are used to buy gear. I still stuck with the game and made it to the 2nd to last area, however here I faces a challenge that I hadn't before, a boss I couldn't beat. So in the end I never beat the game, however I still feel confident that I've experienced all it has to offer, Its not a very story driven game. You get a little card with text after every major boss, that's only 6 pieces of story throughout the entire game.
Overall Not a deep or thoroughly satisfying game. If you have an itch to fight some classic Kirby bosses, then this game is for you, but in the end this game is no more than what the title implies, Its simply a deluxe version of a Kirby minigame. This title is free which makes up for its lack of content, however I don't recommend bothering with any in game purchases, and overall you don't get much more out of this game than what you pay for it.
