Tecmo Bowl delivers just about everything a football game needs to be successful. Each team has it's own merits, San Francisco and Miami are all about the pass, while LA and Chicago have running backs that'll leave everyone in the dust. Some teams have remarkably quick defensive lines, while others have return men who just won't go down. Much of the fun is found in trying out all of the teams to find out whose four play playbook suits your style.
The AI isn't bad at all and progressively puts up more of a fight. You might stomp on your first week opponent only to find that in week two, the other team's secondary is all over your guys and you need to change up your play calling.
Tecmo Bowl is a blast from the past and it's simple fun is something that shouldn't be forgotten in the world of Madden.
