this coulda been a ps2 game.
There is so much to tekken than a regular fighting game. Every character has their own story, own set of moves, own level(actually doesnt seem so but they do).
The graphics in tekken are very nice for the ps1. Every character is detailed, the environments are believable, the cg endings are very nice. The characters move very realistically and fast.
The gameplay. Every character has a different set of moves, except however the secret characters that were only meant to look different. Even so the characters all have different moves that can fit anyones style, the styles range from karate to jeet kune do, to wrestling to barbarianish. The amount of moves each character has is very impressive, it makes you want to remember your favorite moves when you fight. There are also "hard" combos if i may say, that are really original combos put together to make one long combo, its hard to do but once done its very satisfying.
The story, the story isnt all that great, the characters are all competing in a tournament of tekken. Each character has somewhat of a story of their own but not really noticeable.
There is a very cool addition to tekken called tekken force, in which you play as any character in a side scroller beatem up which uses the same engine of fighting. It is somewhat fun for a while but its not great.
The only bad about tekken is that some moves are really hard to do, itll take a while for you to work them but it can be done, there really isnt anything else bad.
Tekken is a must have fighting for anybody.
