Tekken 5 stays loyal to the Tekken core while adding much to it that it feels new. I've honestly enjoyed every bit of it. The addition of a new arsenal of new characters has helped the game a lot to revive that feel of 'freshness' the game has. Moreover, old characters move sets have been changed, and to some characters 'expanded'. But unfortunately, that doesn't apply to all characters. Gameplay: Shear amount of characters, new movesets, new modes (like the Devil Within) and a more intrigueing story mode is more than enough for the fighting fans. Unsurprisingly, Tekken 5 improves the fighting mechanics of its predecessors with the new revamped set of reversals and fighting moves. There's one thing to notice though, the game should've got more arenas. That is, the lack of more arenas makes the game feel the 'same' while it's not. Furthermore, I found the Devil Within Mode to be disappointing because of the repetitiveness in enemies and the limited moves Jin has. On the other hand, the game's well-balaned difficulty's will set a challenge even for those who are fighting enthusiast's (haven't ddared to touch the game on Ultra Hard). Graphics: Another major and outstanding aspect of Tekken 5. The highly polygoned characters express facial reactions and emotions while fighting in what could be the best-looking fighting game to date. The arenas are beautifully designed, with new effects like earth cracking under a fighter as he falls, nice light reflections and astounding scenery. Sound: The sound has been implemented quite well--specially the fighters' voice acting. The music played at fighting arenas is well-rythmed and can give a glorious feel to the fights. Content: Tekken 5 packs a lot of content to keep you busy for ages; from the story, team battle, time attack & survival mode to the new Devil Within Mode (was dissappointing to me though, but others might like it) & the whole new character customization mode, tekken 5 sure excels. Lasting appeal: Not much is needed to be said about Tekken 5 in this criterium. I assure you'll be playing for hours and days non-stop.
