Well, okay. Is this actually slower than tekken 4? How the hell did that happen? That's it. Soul Calibur from hereon out
It's not that tekken 5 does anything particularly bad, it just doesn't do anything particularly well. It continued following the same tangent that tekken 4 took off on with the goofy new character roster and of course the horrific new fighting style for jin. Curse you namco for that one. My bias aside the real crippling feature here is speed...or lack thereof.
Tekken 3 was lightning fast ((on the PS1!)) Tekken Tag highlighted the series with the graphical tweaks of the ps2 but retaining that same blistering speed and fluidity. This is what fighting games are about (good ones anyway). speed and fluidity. Then tekken 4 comes out and mysteriously plays slower, not too much, but kinda reminds me of virtua fighter 4. That was annoying. But tekken 5 adds insult to injury. the speed is clearly and noticeably reduced....what is this...aikido class?! This isn't a fighting sim, this is an arcade style fighter...the Iron fist king of fighters!
Welllll, not so much anymore. Sorry but i'm not in a walker yet. I'll be taking my speed back to soul calibur thank you. At least Namco hasn't buggered up that franchise.
