Biggest flop ever, now has a new name.
Tekken 6 has a very "me too me too!" feel about it. Its not quite Soul Calibur...but it wants to be. It's not quite Virtua fighter...but it wants to be. Its not quite streets of rage....but it wants to be. Its not quite Street Fighter 4....but it wants to be.
The end result is a game which is about as consistent as Britney Spears life in the media limelight. The game caters to 2 crowds and only 2 crowds. Button mashers and professionals. You dont even need to watch the screen to win, just look at the controller and mash and its like a random numbers game if you'll win.... but you'll do better than trying.
Playing arcade for a number of hours...say 5. Gave me enough coin to buy 1 costume upgrade out of 100+ for one of 40 characters!
Essentially quit your life if you hope to ever come close to getting all there is out of this game.
The story campaign is ridiculous, its a throwback to streets of rage, only without any of the charm. When you play, it feels like it was an afterthought. like tossing a FPS mechanic into a racing game.
The story is... dont bother.
And while other critics have praised the game graphically...I have to ask WHY. It looks worse than the year+ old SC4. AA is horrendous!!! Background gfx are atrocious and the characters look really ugly wax fake... complete with jaggies.
Theres a tonne of poorly thought out content stuffed into this title that its overwhelming in scope and yet underwhelming in delivery.
Stick with SF4 for professional fighting. Stick with SC4 for amateur hour.
