Learning moves is a pain in the ass not to mention the game is lacking way to much for a sequel.

I was never a fan of anything Namco made, mostly because these Japanese companies don't design their games fair enough for American players. They are strictly created for the nerdy Japanese geeks who can pick up a controller and master a total of 45 characters with a total of 140 moves or more for each of those characters. Tekken 6 however has good points as well. The graphics have been updated a bit from Tekken 5. Sound effects are overly powerful which means when you land a punch or kick heavy enough to do some devastating damage? You will hear some of the most bone crushing sound effects in any fighting game. Most of the time, attacks will sound as if they can knock you out with one punch or kick. However, Tekken 6 added a new feature into the game which is the ability to customize your fighter. Sadly you cannot do this in 2 player VS modes because for some reason both player accounts will not show up on the same console (horribly disappointing).

There is also a new Tekken force mode which is similar to the Devil Within mode from Tekken 5. Only you can unlock more characters and play with them in a series of beat em up fights. Although there is no offline coop for this mode so expect to be playing it alone online and off. Some of the secrete stages are overly cheap and annoying due to the poor gameplay mechanics. Your best bet is to level up someone you can cheaply win fights with by spamming the same move over and over. And even then! Tekken 6 has a crappy system where if you strike while another person is striking, you will get hit constantly and there is no way to defend back. So the more you try to strike? The more likely you are to get hit first leaving you no room or space to avoid cheap shots.

Juggling is added into the series as well, which means its possible to sweep someone off the floor. It does very little damage even when your pinned up against a wall. There are some stages you can break through and unlock a different area. Although most of these stages are bland and boring. My two favorites would have to be the Thundering Heliport stage, The underground parking lot, the Warzone stage, and I kind of like the City after Dark stage if only there was a way to fight in the streets where cars passed by and etc. Stages in the Tekken series were never all that appealing except for in Tekken 4 which had plenty of interesting stages.

The music on the other hand is saddening, which is why I got the XBOX360 version! I tend to upload songs from other games into my system so that if I have to deal with crappy music, I can switch it out and play something much better. Tekken 6 music is possibly the worst out of the entire series next to Tekken 5. The best stage theme is the Acustic Asia stage. Every other level is just basically medicore or terrible in the music department. It would of been nicer to hear some influences from Tekken 3 or Tekken Tag which had the best soundtracks in the entire Tekken series.

Another disappointment of this series is the moves. Tekken has a huge cast of characters with a few missing such as Jun Kazuma, as well as Marshal Law, etc. However some of them were replaced so its really no big deal. The character move sets are enormous. Of course if you ever wish to learn them, it will take years of practice or perhaps maybe you can get lucky somehow. I went to practice mode and tested out some of the longer move sets that require you to perform up to 25 or more buttons to execute the move *coughs, King* and the way the AI perform these moves is heart aching slow.

You can't just tap the commands in and perform the moves. You have to move at a certain pace which means everything in Tekken 6 or Tekken games in general require slow and careful timing or else you wont be able to perform the move. I can see why lots of people say this game is unbalanced for Arcade competition because who's going to know how to do all of that BS?
I've played tons of simple fighting games that were ten times better than Tekken 6. Tekken 6 has graphics, incredible sound for the effects, but poor music and upsetting gameplay that only an advanced player can get a kick out of. I can only perform about 40% of certain move sets per character. When ever I take control over Anna or Nina, or anyone who's move sets are mostly grapple/submissive. There is just no way in hell I can remember it all. Tekken 6 will become repetive for a novice player no doubt.

If you prefer to play a much more fair game that will let you play at your own pace. Don't waste time with this one. The final boss on the other hand is a disgrace. The only way to beat this guy is by playing cheaply, performing. The games main focus is pretty much on campaign mode. The movies that you unlock are about 7 seconds short some are about 11 seconds short.

They're not as lengthy as they use to be, and some characters even have the same ending with different scenes. Its surprising that Tekken 6 managed to get an 8.5 score when its lacking in so much. The gameplay should get an update as well. Not saying you can't enjoy the game if you play with someone at your own skill level. I find myself losing quite easily to my brother in this game because of the crappy gameplay. Neither one of us can perform the much more interesting moves. But for some reason its easy to lose in Tekken 6. Its like whenever I strike first, my brother ends up hitting me somehow. And the more I try to defend by fighting back? The more I get my a** kicked. I never lose like that to him in Virtua Fighters 5 or a more balanced game that doesn't feel so stiff and stuck half of the time. And virtua Fighters 5 is way slower than Tekken 6.
