Weak.

This lame fighter is one of the weakest versions of Tekken I have ever played. The major problem is that the online is laggy even with a good connection. You can be in the middle of a great fight and lag will ruin the entire thing. The offline is amateur hour all over the place with uneven difficulty, boring arenas, and bosses that are not challenging as much as they are cheap and frustrating. The scenario mode is disgraceful - they assume you will care more about pick ups (that only change your stats in the single player scenario mode) and points than actually having a good time. The guy who said this mode was great must be new to gaming. Double dragon was a better beat-em-up than this. Also - there is about a hour of cut scenes in this mode which is a little strange. I'm not sure the Tekken crowd really cares about the struggle between theses two forces and I have no idea why Namco thought it was worth their time and resources to do all this. It also sad that those cut scenes were given more attention than the gameplay. All of the stages play exactly the same, all of the enemies fight almost exactly the same and your teammate needs more babysitting than my sisters kids.

The only thing decent about this game is the very detailed practice mode with many variables to play with. This helps you learn your fighting moves and hone your technique. The issue is that the ghosts are not all that fun to play against and online is too spotty. You can have a good fight or two, but you will find a number of your fights will have intermittent lag. So if you don't have a friend to play with at your house I'm not sure what you will do with all that training.

All around I am very glad I rented this instead of buying. Please don't encourage another version of the weak crap by purchasing. Just pass. Maybe Tekken needs to die off and resurface in a few years with a new team - and maybe some original or at least fun gameplay. If you have any previous version of Tekken just keep playing that.
