A great game soiled by the company running it!

User Rating: 5.5 | TERA PC
Tera has been a steadily sinking ship and it's been beyond the point where it can be "ignored" now. The game has been failing on a massive world wide scale. From server mergers, to developer changes to layoffs and the clear and present price drop for the game shows that it no longer has any value.

What ticks me off is that despite all of this when the very players themselves tell the developers and publishers what they are not happy with and why they are leaving they ignore them. They don't take time to notice trends or say what they are even attempting to do to fix them. We've been hearing "we're working on it" for months. How long do you think people are going to sit around and PAY, waiting for the problems with this game to be fixed when there are other more promising titles being released?

Sometimes people just rant just to rant but there are also times when people hit the nail on the head with the faults in this game. It's not doing well for a reason! And people have made those reasons quite vocal worldwide. Yet the same ol' same ol' is just being dished out and were expected to be excited about it. Especially at Enmasse, they pretend like none of these problems exists and everyone is happy with the game as it is and just continue on hyping up add on game content and Store items. With the short reply of "we are working on it" to any and all addressments your subscribers have been making.

I find it hard to believe anyone at Enmasse can ignore all the bad press this game has received. I think it's impossible to just do a google search for Enmasse Tera or browse around on MMO forums and read about just how people loathe this game, and NO! I am not talking about trolls bashing it but players sharing their experience of the game and why they no longer like it. It's not as though there is a mystery as to why the game is sinking, when people are stating exactly what it is they don't like about the game.

Instead of trying to reassure the current customer base in giving us confidence that you are ACTUALLY working on these issues it's like Enmasse and all the rest just choose to ignore it. What they don't realize is that people that play games remember things like this. They remember publishers/developers etc. and their previous work influences their decisions on trying their games again in the future. There are publishers/developers I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole if they released a new game and claimed it to be the greatest thing just because of how they handled their games in the past. It's called an industry reputation. Even if Enmasse put out a different game other than Tera some time down the road I would think "Enmasse oh yeah, that's right they are the company that completely ignores what their customers want NO THANKS!"

As for this game right now it has one foot in the grave and the other foot on a banana peel, and all it needs is a light push. I'm just not seeing how Enmasse (because this is NA) or the Tera franchise in general is doing anything to redeem itself for these terable past few months. It just makes me feel as a customer that this game can't be redeemed and it's a lost cause. Which is why when I see a game that was 59.99 and 79.99 just a few months ago now at bargain bin prices it makes me realize this game has lost its overall value.

It never managed to really capture any notable portion of the mmo market and what group it did catch it isn't satisfying so when something else comes along of course those people are going to try it and may or may not come back to this. Even though it's a sub game in truth I don't feel it's an experience worth paying for especially when you throw in dealing with the in game and off game community and overall game issues. There's too many areas that need work and they aren't being addressed fast enough. The Argon Queen is nice and thanks but that is just new paint on an old wall that hasn't been fixed first.

As a player and a customer I'm just fed up at this point to see Enmasse playing the "elephant in the living room trick" which is a tactic that companies do when they are in serious turmoil. I don't wish for this game to fail, I want it to do well and certainly better than it has been doing but I feel deeply that the players of this game are more passionate about it than the people that run and manage it.
