Excellent map to explore, though it is lacking on the driving side of the game. If you enjoy driving this is not 4 u.
I had a logitech g25 wheel connected to the Ps3 because I always use it with driving games. Unfortunately, although they say this game is suitable for logitech wheels, I could not get past the first interaction with the wheel. There is the avatar in a dream, who got a Ferrari California as a birthday gift. As I was using the G25 I could not get inside the car to drive around... I had to disconnect the wheel and use the ps3 controller.
To be honest, in terms of customization for the controller devices, this game is really too limited. You can't assign the keys you want to use on your wheel... it's just bad!
When I finally got into the driving bit with the ps3 controller the game felt awkwardly too arcade. The company said they were trying to establish a balance between arcade and simulator drivers. Well, they've failed badly. It is purely arcade.
I am trying not to be too negative about this game, but the reality forces me to be honest and this reality is that this game is quite bad.
Driving around in the island though is quite pleasurable. You do get the sense that you are immersed on an island. You can feel the freedom of deciding where to go... You can explore the mountains, the seaside, dirt roads... you drive with plenty of sun, with cloudy and rainy days, you will drive in the night.. well the weather engine is really good!
If you have played the previous version of the TDU series, you will feel at home.
The different cameras views: the in car camera could be quite good if it were not for the head turning every time you turn the wheel. You already have the control of the head movement so why can't we disable the automatic movement of the head?
You will have quite an array of different machines in the game to explore around the city. You will have to make licenses and race either with Ai or in multiplayer.
The Multiplayer part of this game is quite good too. When you are driving around the city you will see other players around the world sharing the same roads with you. This bit, I find it quite clever, so you do not have to go to a specific option in the menu to connect with the world...
To sum it up...
Good: Map, Multiplayer, Weather.
Bad: car graphics, driving physics, game settings...
I have spent 4 hours playing this game and already don't feel like I am going to play again soon. I am disappointed.
