It's all about online racing!
Atari's Test Drive Unlimited is a really good racing game for the Xbox 360.Not only was it a good game but it was one of the best online multiplayer a Xbox fan would want!After a few months Atari decided to make Test Drive Unlimited for the PSP! I was quite impressed with the game's capabilities even for a small handheld.You can find every single part of TDU(XBOX 360) in the PSP's TDU.But a few "lacks" because of the PSP's memory.
GRAPHICS
Mostly PSP owners first look at their new game's graphics.And when they first look at this game they'll jump like a monkey!Meaning that the graphics look astonoshing to see.It looks more of the PS2 version instead of those HD games(DUH).
GAMEPLAY
All of you always look forward to a story for a racing game like NFS,but TDU doesn't have any storyline!You just race,customize,brag about your cars,buy and more racing.The game's HUGE and I mean HUGE map of Hawaii(I wonder why they picked Hawaii?) is freshly detailed and there are a few,just a few squares and triangles that you'll see once in a while.(this is not a spoiler)There are a lot of challenges in the island.Most of them are just racing for money,better cars,car parts and houses.The rewards also include MP (Master Points)Its like MP in a rpg game.As you gain them,you'll go up in rank from beginner to novice then expert etc.These will also unlock more challenges in the island.
ADHOC Multiplayer
Good mode.You can play with your friends(1-4 players only)
ONLINE Multiplayer
This game's online multiplayer makes me want to stick my hand on my PSP for a week!More than 150 racers can go online.You can either race with 3 other guys/girls from around the world or just roam around Hawaii with your Lamborghini.You can race with another person by flashing your headlights at them.
CARS
When you first start the game you'll rent a car for 30-60 minutes and after that,you half to buy a BAD car(It gets better when you have more money)There are a lot of choices of cars.There's Lamborghini's,Aston Martins,Ford GT's etc.(trust me,There are more cars here than the old NFS PSP games)There are two problems with the vehicles,NO MOTORCYCLES and there's no "driver seat" view.And not all cars made it to the PSP.
CONTROLS
Kinda hard in the beginning but you'll get used to it anyway.So its easy.
SOUND
MOST soundtracks are made by unknown bands but SOME are made by known bands.If you don't want to here those songs you can use your own mp3's instead.(somewhat related to homebrew)So no problem for the sounds.
OVERALL
The game is a success!The game could be a complete copy of the 360 version if it had more memory.The online multiplayer is very addictive!This game is a must for PSP owners.
