The only real downside about his package is it's price.
There really isn't much to be said about the gameplay, because let's face it, everyone and their mom knows how to play Tetris. But, let's just say that the classic Tetris is back, as well as dozens of other types. Different modes range from older versions of Tetris such as Sprint or Marathon, whereas there are also some brand new versions like Bombliss or Field Climber. Honestly, classic Tetris (Marathon mode) is my favourite, with sprint coming in second, but there's so much content here it's just incredible!
Now, on to the graphics. Hell, it's Tetris. What do you want? It's got what you need to play, with a few little coll special effects here and there, but it's nothing too fancy. It has what you need to play the game, and that's good enough for me!
Multiplayer is also incredibly fun. You only need one card to play Vs. or Co-op game modes, but two or more are required for all the other game modes. I was just at a party yesterday, actually, and we spent hours and hours passing around our DS systems taking turns playing Tetris, with only one card. Regular Vs. is all you need to have fun here, yet all the other modes are just icing on the cake. Sadly, the online multiplayer is a bit of a disappointment. There are about 5 pre-made things you can say to your opponent or teammate, and there are only two game modes. I would've liked to see more modes used here. That being said though, Vs. and Duel Spaces modes are still great fun, and there's absolutely no lag, no matter what, even if your connection is only at one bar. Although, you may find it hard to find people playing Duel Spaces...
Well, that's just about it for my Tetris Party Deluxe review! It's a great game with only a few drawbacks, one of which being its price, seeing as how it's currently being sold at 29.99. Sure, you get your money's worth, but Tetris Party was released on Wii last year costing only 1200 wii points ($12), and it had all of this minus Duel Spaces online gameplay and a few main game modes. Nontheless, if you don't already own Tetris Party on Wii, or you just want a portable DS version of Tetris because you can't find Tetris DS (Nintendo discontinued it), then this is definitely the game to pick up.
