Aya Brea Is Back The 3rd Time After Ten Years And She's Still Young,Amazing Mind Blowing One Of The Best PSP Games Ever.
The Third Birthday Is A Third Person Action Role-Playing Shooter game released on 29 March 2011 exclusively for the Playstation Portable, developed by HexaDrive and published by Square Enix, It is a sequel to the famous Horror Themed Role-Playing game series Parasite Eve.
Although the game is not called Parasite Eve 3, it takes place in Manhattan, New York City ten years after the events of Parasite Eve II. The player takes on the role of Aya Brea, and must fight against mysterious "Twisted" creatures threatening the city.
the game is played from an over(the)shoulder third person perspective such as Resident Evil: Revelations, its actually a very similar game.
The game opens on Christmas eve as usual in the year 2012 in a snowy Manhattan, suddenly a swarm of hideous organic structures burst from under the ground, killing lots people and destroying many more the city in the process. They are named as the "Babels". These plant-like roots bring with them coiled life-forms, called the "Twisted", that actively attack and seemingly consume humans. after a year of the attack, an investigatory team known as the CTI (Counter Twisted Investigation) is formed. One of the members of CTI is Aya Brea, who was found lying blood-soaked in a wedding dress outside the Church in 2010 just before the Babels and Twisted began appearing. Dr. Hyde Bohr, Chief of CTI, found Aya without her memories from the years before.
After taking Aya in, the CTI discovered that she was capable of transferring her soul from body to body, an ability called "Overdive". Hyde and the others planned to use this unique ability to travel back through time and prevent the disaster. They developed a machine called "Overdive System", which makes use of Aya's ability and can send her in the past to take control of someone else's body and therefore their actions. The machine was completed in 2013 and utilized 2 years after the Twisted first appeared.
of course that's not only the story but we cant make spoiler reviews... so Aya time travels to the past to destroy the babels, that's the main objective of the game but the story adds up when Aya starts retrieving her memories.
So this is supposed to be Parasite Eve 3, but its nothing compared to the first two games in the franchise, this one was nowhere near horror but its awesome if we dont compare it to other parasite eve games.
its sorta similar to "resident evil: revelations" with a gears of war mixed up with "call of duty" and "mass effect", oh god that's too action for a "Parasite Eve" game, can't believe they're that stupid to change one of the best horror games ever to the most action RPG I've ever played.
this game got bad reviews because its really difficult , the reviewers who said only the combat of this game is bad are really stupid because the whole game is combat, yes its combat the player walks around and shoots twisted.
you will love this game if you are an RPG fan but its related to Parasite Eve 2, the game is perfect as an RPG shooter it has everything a shooter fan would love to get, but what about the fans of the classic horror parasite eve? will Square Enix just forget about them?

There are four difficulties in this game, easy, normal, hard and deadly.
now this is the type of game that when you finish it,you are going to go for a replay then a re:replay and then a re:re:play.
now personally i played this game four **** times and I'm planning to play the fifth time soon, hell yeah I'm mastering it, so the first playthrough on easy its gonna be very very challenging, but after you finish it and level up, easy is just one hit kill mode now.
normal in the second playthrough is also a piece of cake, hard in the second playthrough is just like easy in the first, hard mode in the first playthrough is very very difficult and you wont get through it, and deadly mode is just deadly :P
the controls are very simple and comfortable with the psp.

The soundtracks were the best soundtracks possible for a game, the parasite eve series have always had awesome soundtracks.
the voice acting was perfect, the protagonist has voice acting thank god finally a protagonist with voice acting, anyways the voice acting is detailed, realistic and special...very special.

the graphics where a ten out of ten for a psp game, the best graphics a psp game could ever have, very detailed and awesome and probably close to some of the new ps3 games' graphics.
the character design was very similar to the final fantasy 13 series, and it also upgraded how Aya looks. the characters are detailed and everyone of them has a personality.
the levels are similar sometimes but its great, the twisted's design is brilliant and detailed.

yes of course, specially because it has lots of cutscenes and some secrets hidden about it, so its a really fun to play game that has fun to watch cutscenes.
and it will also make you play it several times, it took me like 11 hours the first time i played it and 5 hours the second time i played it, 25 hours are the total i used in the whole four times I played it.

The ending... Hmph there's so much to say, its very complicated and awesome, sad and shocking, i was even gonna cry... well here's a secret: i did :(
the music in the ending is awesome and everything, its quite the perfect ending after you understand it, there is also a secret ending that shows up after the second playthrough.
so the ending was sad, shocking, awesome, complicated, disturbing,even the secret ending was sad dammit :(

but here's a warning, it has nothing to do with horror but its the best action RPG, you will enjoy another great journey with Aya Brea.
and please do not read or watch the gamespot review because it says the game has **** controls and protagonist and they just made me angry by reading their review.

We would give the game 9.5 out of 10, we really hope you buy this game soon before its too late, it has an awesome combat, optional camera choices and amazing soundtracks and graphics, its also better than the modern action Resident Evil games, but if you're looking for a horror game please stay away from this one, its nothing similar to the first two parasite eve games, otherwise you will enjoy this as a role-playing shooter only.
But of course this is our honest opinion, some people might like it, and some people might not.
