Storyline-wise , it may not be the most appealing for Parasite Eve fans , but the gameplay itself is another story.
Whilst not fully generating the potential it can possibly deliver , the suspense it once had nor the storyline it had once delivered , The 3rd Birthday proves to be something entertaining for both old and new fans of the series.
It may share heavy resemblance with Final Fantasy VII : Dirge of Cerberus , with it's lock-on based action-shooter content , it sets itself apart by having a unique OverDrive system which allows the player to "possess" existing NPC units in the area.
There are also a variety of weapons at the player's disposal to keep the game fresh and suiting to that of the player's tastes.
As for the actual gameplay , the game does not actually evolve in it's gameplay structure nor system as the game progresses but despite the seemingly repetitive gameplay , the player would probably find themselves hooked onto the game for a while , despite it having a miserably short campaign span as the player can challenge themselves with ridiculous difficulty levels in the game.
There are also an assortment of costumes for unlocking and speaking of costumes , they might get torn in combat due to intensive damage.
To put it bluntly , this game is putting Aya's body to... err... extensive exposure to cause some extensive nosebleeding due to extensive exposu-
... Forget it.
Well , generally speaking , it isn't really a game rich in diversity nor features , but it is a nice addition to Action fans and those who have long awaited for the revival of the Parasite Eve series.
