Not the Parasite Eve I was expecting, but it really grows on you. It's a blast to play and most importantly is very fun!

If you played the first two PE games, like I have, you will feel sort of betrayed by this game. Ever since the Squaresoft Enix merger, the company has been going down the crapper. Blame Wada and his "Appeal to western audiences, dumbing down games, take M$ bribe money" attitude etc... That was my first impression when I started playing this. I though "Oh know this is another FF13, a complete dumbing down for a larger audience ie..what Wada thinks Westerners like. I quickly realized that I was wrong.

The game starts out and the shooting gunplay doesn't feel that great at first. But after you get past the tutorial missions it;s a blast to play. There is a lot of depth in the dna board and weapons upgrades buying. I loved that aspect of the game and i am glad they kept that as well as level up mechanics. Is it a true rpg no. It's a hybrid action rpp, think Mass Effect 2 style but with more depth in equipment (which was my biggest beef with that game).

Oh how I do wish this was a proper Parasite Eve game, as I am replaying PE1 on my PSP now too... but thats not the game they made. For what it is, this is a fantastic game. Just try not to expect PE3 and you will love it. I won't go into specific game play here as you can find that on the official reviews and other user reviews. I just wanted to show my opinion. I highly recommend this game! Even if you don't like TPS games, you may still enjoy this. If you were expecting PE3, try this out, you may find it surprisingly fun and addictive.

A final note goes to the visuals and sound. The visuals are outstanding!!! This game has better graphics then all the wii games.. (I know not saying much..but for a 6 year old handheld thats a lot!) It's got the atmosphere perfect with the sound effects and thrilling soundtrack.

Again I hihgly recommend this game! Try it out if you are on the fence. I belive if you give it enough of a go it will grow on you and you will love it!
