Jimmy Neutron is one of my favorite characters and series, so when The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron was announced for Game Boy Advance, I was pretty much excited about this game. When I got this game I played it a lot and I have to say this game was good, with the exception for this problem in gameplay. The game is about Jimmy and his evil alter ego Jimmy Negatron. Jimmy Negatron is out to take over and mess up Retroville and it's up to Jimmy Neutron to stop him. During the game Jimmy explores 3-D worlds filled with enemies and items to collect. The worlds are divided into three parts. One part requires activating, turning on, or switching something. The second part of the world requires Jimmy to collect ten important items. The third part requires Jimmy to defeat ten mini bosses. Jimmy can also collect Blue Neutrons to power up his gadget, Purple Flurp (a kind of soda) to refill health, and coins that he can use to buy power-ups from a shop. This game is good and pretty it's unique, since it's a 3-D action/adventure game. However there is a small problem that makes this game less fun to play. The problem with the gameplay is the idea of Jimmy re-spawning after every single hit. For example, if Jimmy is exploring a level and an enemy hits him, he'll re-spawn to a location that's before he met the enemy. After practice dodging most enemies, it's not much of a big deal for me. Multiplayer mode on The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron is a blast to play. There's an Asteroids-type Multiplayer game, where players blow up asteroids trying to collect 20 rubies, which is pretty fun to play, and it only requires one copy of the game to play. There are two other multiplayer modes that require two or more copies of the game to play. The graphics in The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron are amazing. They are actually in full 3-D, which adds for some nice level effects. Each object and character has some cool 3-D effects to them as well. The sound isn't too great. The sound effects are good for the game, but the music is slow and depressing. A good thing is, there's an option to turn off the music. In the end, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron is a good GBA game. It does have a problem where Jimmy re-spawns after every time he's hit by an enemy, but after some practice dodging the enemies it was a good game. Also Multiplayer was a blast and made up for it. It may not be the best Jimmy Neutron game out there, but it was still good and I enjoyed it.
