Frustrating little platformer...
Lomax is one of the better looking 2D platformers I've seen; being on PSX I guess it had to step it up a bit. Still, it's not the best, and somewhat just reminds me of Rayman. In fact, a lot of the aspects of this game remind of Rayman. Played that game? Well, picking this one up will warrant more likewise gameplay.
...But did I mention that it's frustrating? Because it is. Lomax has this jumping spin attack that turns evil lemmings back to normal. If you manage to beat the first levels he also gains typical lemming abilities, like building bridges etc. However, this is just a little extra idea tagged on. This system could have been put to better use to make the game a much deeper and worthwhile experience, but it ultimately is as I said, just tacked on to say "hey! more lemming tie-ins!"
I'll admit I haven't beaten this game yet. I just scarcely got past the first few levels to be honest; simply because this game does just enough, it suffices, but in the end is far too frustrating to be able to recommend. I suggest just playing Lemmings and/or Lemmings knock-offs instead.
