It seems that this time mister riddick couldn't live up to the classic of 2004.

Ok, it is composed of the original "escape from butcher bay" and a new "assault on dark athena". The new game have plenty of opportunities for stabbing practices, but it's much easier. It lacks the feeling of the antagonists being overwhelmingly superior (in fire power, in number)--it lacks the fear of being detected. What's the use of hiding in the dark when the enemies are nothing but walking corpse who can't even see you when you're just next to them? Even detected someone , they would let their guard down after a while and drop the pursuit. And there're no use to drag bodies in shades because the AI are too dumb to notice any of them fell.

Oh and, I really hate the implementation of using guns in the game. It just ruins everything. When you fire, the enemy would flood towards you and fall until the last of them. Will they ever take cover?

Especially in the later part of the game, when players are being forced to use guns.(no shades to hide) And so you just walk inside a room, guns blasting. Not much of a stealth survival, is there?

There are also no sidequests, maybe one in Augeurra but that's all. Storyline is almost not existing..too easy to guess the way it goes and too linear. It lacks the depth of the first. Size of map IS small and is NOT free-roaming, unlike the first one.

It's easy, it's short, it's boring. So it goes for Dark Athena.
