It's drawing dangerously close to two years since I first stalked through the mines of Butcher Bay, and the details are still fresh... from Jagger Valance's forced vocals to the giddiness of scoring an assault rifle, all of it exists in the world of Riddick to evoke a dreadful reality --- that you've finally landed in a place that only the mass-murderers and psychopaths could possibly belong. Luckily for our viewers, you just happen to be behind the wheel of the most badass mofo to ever roam the galaxy, and there's never any doubt that snow would sooner fall on the hills of Hell than Riddick living out out the rest of his life in a dive like this one. From a technical standpoint, this game is consistently astonishing. The graphics are perfect in every way you could ask for, and the audio is even better. The only gripe I can manage is that there's just not enough of this game --- the ten hours it takes to see this through are fantastic, and maybe a longer game would've worn out its welcome, but in any case, the lack of multiplayer and lengthy campaign will bother some. Oh, well. To say any more about it would rob you of some fantastic oppertunities for first impressions, which is something this game's environment evokes plenty of --- from fear to misery, you'll run the gamut of emotion as you blast through this bastion of terror in your quest to bail Riddick the hell outta Butcher Bay. To this day I haven't come across a game quite so immersive, and I'm not holding my breath as I continue to wait.
