a heavily hyped shooter for wii that delivers what was expected, but nothing else
User Rating: 7.5 | The Conduit WII
playing the conduit, i was excited at first. the storyline seemed like it could be worth a damn, of course everyone knows about the controls at this point, and the best wii graphics to date. too bad most of the game is running from one corridor to the other shooting guys (or aliens), blowing up spawn portals, then finding things hidden on the walls with the games standout piece of equipment, the ASE. There are some real action-y moments though. i loved fighting of 2 giant aliens the size of buildings, or destroying tentacles attached to a helicopter so it can take off. those are the best moments of this 5-7 hour shooter. The stroy falls flat to. thanks to cliched voic acting and a predictable storyline except for the end, which was actaully fairly sad. Multiplayer on the other hand, is perfect. the game has many different weapon sets to vote for between matches, several well designed levels, and creative game modes like ASE football, where you hold on to the ASE to get points, bounty hunter, where you kill your rivals who wronged you before, and shared stock, where 2 teams start with 50 lives. first team to lose all their lives loses. the conduit is a good game that got more hype than it could handle
