One for the "rental" category. Even if you are the biggest Dan Brown fan in world. Which I dare say, you are not. ;)
The characters don't look so bad, but they sound bad. Movement is quite jerky at times and if you are not careful you can get stuck by whichever NPC is following you around at the time. I almost had to restart a level due to a dark awkward camera angle that forced me to just run and bump my way to freedom.
The puzzles are cool. They vary in difficulty that either was too easy or just frustrating. To some, this will be the saving grace of the game. But for me, it just slowed the already snail's pace game down even more.
The combat is not so bad either with a new twist to button smashing requiring you to be more controller adept. While this too was interesting, it managed to only slow the combat down. Is this possible? It is now.
The score is nice and fits gameplay nicely. Visually stunning at times and down right boring at other times.
There are some extra levels at the end that I thought were a bonus until I tried to play them. Just more puzzles that give you nothing in one. And the other I was unable to really take advantage of because I did not find every secret item there was. Normally this becomes a challenge to "go back and replay some levels". But not this time Mister. Just not enough points in the fun column to put myself, Robert, and Sophie back through the ringer.
If you want a puzzle box of a game, rent it. Pass on buying it, because once you play it and beat it, it will most likely never spin up in your xbox again.
