A good fps, no more, no less.
Now, well, I'm a little bit disappointed. So first, the cel shading is okay, the quality is clearly there and the artistic direction is sweet. Even if it looks like (in some way) a comic book, TDII can be very bloody and gruesome, especially when we're doing an execution. It's even more enjoyable because the gameplay is intuitive and fun. The sensation of power is always present, with or without a pad, and the abilities of The Darkness are well done. That's definitely a good point.
Why not a 9 then? Or a 8? In fact, the game is too easy. I've played on hard and it took me less than 7 hours to finish it. 15,4 in hours in total with the New Game + and having a cup of tea or two. The story is'nt full of incident, classic. The replay value is weak, the multiplayer mode is kind of nice during the first minutes but the necessity to play with someone for certain missions is annoying -and good luck if you don't have a friend who posseses the game.
In conclusion, the game is good, no more, no less. A fine FPS for 10 hours or less, except if you're an aficionado of steam successes, then run and buy it. Otherwise, go your way.
