Very interesting storyline slightly marred by myst-like puzzles.

User Rating: 8.6 | The Dig PC
I'm really surprised at the negative reviews this game got back in the days it was released. Honestly, it seems like everyone was so hooked on the comical atmosphere in every lucasarts adventure game to that point that they couldn't handle a serious game. I for one loved the serious tone. The voice acting was superb, the music was epic, the storyline was involving. It's an excellent adventure game.

Its graphics are amazing considering this game was released in 1996. The only problem I found with this game is that it didn't have the most interesting puzzles. The Dig was released soon after Myst which enjoyed an enormous amount of success so I guess they tried to replicate the type of puzzles found in Myst. Well I don't like it. I don't like Myst and I'd rather that my adventure games try to keep those types of puzzles to a minimum.

Aside from that, this game should be played by anyone who likes a good story and adventure games.
