I've always been a fan of the Final Fantasy's, which as we all know, are very story-based and linear. I had played a few RPGs that let you take your own way a few times, but nothing even compared to Morrowind. Morrowind gets you lost... and you know what? Wanderering around a forest walking for half an hour and not seeing an humans and just being totally lost is a ton of fun. I thought the graphics were really strong... the two things that I didn't like were how the distant objects (trees, mountain, etc) would suddenly pop up out of the mist. Also, some parts (the ashlands and a lot of the norther mountain ranges) were really bare. After roaming in the southern forests that are so beautiful and plentiful of nature, the very (too) bare northern mountain atmosphere was a little TOO lonely. I think the sky (both night and day) were just amazing, I enjoyed just starring up at the sky for a few minutes at times. Gameplay, this game is also really strong. Except for it being too easy if you want to do too much extra questing and not exactly enough enemies, this game is great gameplay wise. Making your own spells and adding spell enchantments to weapons really adds a lot. I never got much into making your own potions and stuff from nature things (herbs, flowers, etc.), but the little I did was really cool. Stealing was great, and sneaking up to someone and trying to steal from them is both suspenseful and great fun. Also, whipping out an entire town of both the innocent and the guards is just a lot of fun too :D Sound was the weakest part of the game. They only had a few songs, but they were great. The one that plays when you're just walking around (not in battle) is really, really good, but of course, after your 20th hour of hearing it, it gets a bit repetitive. Sound effects were good I thought, and especially the little things like the lightning. I swear i jumped in shock the first time I heard the lightning, it was great. Value is amazing. It's just one of those games you can play forever, just walking around is fun. And then you can all do it again as another main class (fighter, mage, thief). It's pretty simple - if you're looking for a game that will be fun for... well, forever, then this is. To sum it all up... if you like RPGs, get this game. If you like wanderering around just exploring for hours and hours in just amazement, get this game RIGHT NOW. Actually, scratch that, get the game of the year edition... :P Great RPG, great game. Get it.
