The RPG for those that don't play well with others.

When I first started playing RPGs, I was encouraged to try out a certain MMORPG that was supposed to be the ultimate in freedom and playability. While I still have a fondness in my heart for certain aspects of MMORPGs, there was one element that I never cared for. That element was having to deal with other players. Individually some were very cool, and fun to play with. As a community, I absolutely loathed them. The endless camping, kill stealing, being accused of kill stealing, and endless babbling that had nothing to do with the game itself really made the gaming experience a chore instead of a joy. I thought that I would never be satisfied with RPGs. I wasn't until I got an Xbox and discovered Morrowind.

Morrowind has all the good features of the MMORPG, like endless questing and making money, without the hassle of dealing with a community of people. The first time I played this game, I called the friend who played the online games and told him that I finally found the game for me.

The Story: Depends on what you do in the game. There is a Main Quest that is pretty good, but it is the back story that makes this game come alive. The back story is presented piece by piece in the form of books that you find along the way, and in my opinion, definitely worth a read.

The Gameplay: While the combat is admittedly poor, it is not bad enough to ruin your gaming experience. The sheer multitude of quests, the flexibility in the ways to complete the quests, the freedom to ignore the quests if you so desire, more than make up for the combat action and the technical difficulties that happen from time to time.

So if you are looking to expand your horizons in the RPG gaming world, it is worth the money to pick this up for either the Xbox or PC if you have a high end gaming computer. If you can't stand another minute of people shouting that they are looking to buy or sell something in the middle of town, or being called a noob because you don't know everything yet, then run to pick up this game! You won't be disappointed.
