This game is so great and so awful at the same time.

The game looks great. It feels right when you jump into TES for the fourth time to battle the demons of oblivion, but for me just like with Morrowind I felt something still missing that I hadn't felt since Daggerfall. The funny thing is that I can't place my finger on it because Daggerfall was so impossible and glitchy and awesome and overwhelming that I never really knew if I hated it or loved it when I was playing it. It turns out that I was loving the freedom and massive, overwhelming world that I was allowed to explore. In Morrowind and Oblivion I felt trapped, but I suppose in a good way because they are still awesome. Oblivion is definately worth playing because it looks great and it has tons to do. The only drawback is that you never really feel like part of the world, you are just in the world doing things. I also though the game was a little too easy compared to previous incarnations. I remember painstakingly exploring the countryside in Daggerfall and Morrowind looking for a cave or a tomb that wasn't yet on my map, but with Oblivion all I had to do was use my quest arrow and I could get there without even looking at where I was headed. Just point the screen in the direction of the arrow and push forward. The combat is still wonky like all of TES games, but at least it is easy to use and master. I would never knock this game too much because I loved playing it and completing everything there was to complete, but I was hoping for something that blew my mind. It didn't.
