I just recently beat Oblivion and I put in over 30 hours and I still haven't beaten all the guild quests. For starters the character creation is unfreakin believable, you can change everything from nose size to how far their chin juts out. So I choose an Imperial male, something simple. After about 20 or 30 minutes I was into the world of Cryodiil and exploring freely, killing random wildlife and learning the games interesting combat system. I picked up on my blade and magic skills and before long I was well on my way doing quests for the main story which, for me, lasted about 35 hours but I have friends who spent over 50+ hours leveling up and making sure they didn't miss anything. The game has 4 guilds and an Arena that serve as achievement point goodness as well as quests that are well rewarding. My favorite guild so far has to be The Dark Brother Hood just because of the fact that they kill and get paid for it. As far as the main story it has *SPOLIERS* to deal with the "Amulet of Kings" and the dark lord of the deadra known as "Mehrunes Dagon" as he opens Oblivion Gates around Cryodiil in an attempt to steal the Amulet of Kings. That's as about as basic as I can put it, but the story has many twists and a over all good story for an RPG. I highly recommend this game to RPG lovers and anyone that wants a rewarding experence.
