When I first started playing Oblivion, I didn't really know what to expect. I didn't know whether it would be fun, boring, interesting, or bland. Well as it turns out, all of my expectations for ANY game were completely blown away by this behemoth of a game. This is a game were you could literally walk around the province of Cyrodiil for hours upon hours, trying to find that last elusive piece of armor to complete your set. Or you could become engulfed in the main quest, working to save the Empire from a certain doom. The games main quest is pretty straight froward, but is extremely fun and rewarding nevertheless. The only thing you need to know is that the Empire is in danger, and it's up to you, the player, to save it. There are many locations to explore in Oblivion, ranging from amazing, ancient ruins, to massive natural caves. Each location offers it's own unique layout, and overall, the different places are very well done. Oblivion is also leaps and bounds ahead of it's predecessor, Morrowind, in almost every department. The swordplay is more fun, the province is bigger, and just every thing about the game is refined. This game is massive in every sense of the word, but you will never feel overwhelmed. Do a bit of exploring here, and some questing there, and you should be fine. All in all, this game has raised my standards for not only RPG's, but for the industry as well. This is a game you cannot miss, and if you haven't lost yourself playing this marvel yet, stop reading this review, run (don't walk) to your nearest game store and buy it. After you've finished playing, you can thank me for pointing you in the direction of one of the best games out there.
