One of the BEST games you'll ever play.
The game is set in the Elder Scrolls universe in the province of Cyrodil. The game is set in a quasi-medieval setting much like that of the Lord of the Rings series, with castles and elves and orcs and such. Like almost every other RPG, your character starts as a lowly level-1 wimp who must save the world from a great evil. Though the plot iseems to be much like that of any other fantasy game, it is a very thrilling and unique experiance filled with the standard dungeon crawling and monster fighting. Unlike many other games, the dungeon crawling aspect of the game is always unique from other games where one goes through corridor after identical, boring corridor fighting lame baddies, but Oblivion's are all fun and exciting. Your character also takes part in large, chaotic battles that are extremely fun, and even if you die it gives you a great excuse to do it all over again. The writing is above average, and the voice acting is great as well. The main quest in Oblivion gives new meaning to epic gameplay.
Wow, I've said alot, and I've only mentioned the main quest. Aside from the main quest there are hundreds of jobs to do and things to see: you could join a guild and rise through the ranks to become its leader, or you could help rescue a woman's husband from an alternate dimension he created inside a painting. The best thing of all is, YOU ARE NEVER FORCED TO DO ANYTHING! Hell, you could just walk around the game world doing absolutely nothing, and doing just that is as fun as anything else in the game. It is amazing how much freedom the game gives you compared to the countless linear RPGs out there. Wow, I've said a hell of a lot without even mentioning the awesome score, the cool combat system and the beutiful graphics. I don't want to be writing this all night, so I will just say this: this game is GOOD. Period.
