This game is probably the best reason to buy an XBOX 360
FIRSTLY - Final Fantasy 7is the best RPG EVER FULL STOP
SECONDLY - saying it like that doesn't give this game credit. Really Bethesda have pulled out all the stops in this game. Oblivion in a First or Third (which ever you want) person RPG which lets you let rip with swords, axes, hammers, bows, your fists, fireball, skeletons and loads of over stuff. Lets get the plot out of the way first. You create a charcter at the beginning of the game from a number of different races including elves, nords, orcs, khajits (cat like people), argonians (lizard like people), and other races similiar in appearance to humans. In the creation you control pretty much every aspect of the character, You wanna make a fat, goofy, big eared balding bloke, you can or a female character with giant breasts and ass and a huge nose...yeah that too. You could also make a really cool looking character if you so desired. Anyway after that the plot sort of kicks in, at the beginning you're a prisoner (don't know why). Why mulling around in your cell, a group of Blades (bodyguards) come through escorting the Emporer. Turns out someone wants him and his sons dead and being the last one alive assasins have been sent after him and therefore he's escaping the city and it just so happens the escape routes in your cell gee whiz ain't that lucky. Anyway it turns out the emporer has foreseen you in his dreams and prophecises your important destiny in correcting the wrong happening, after a bit of gameplay the emporer is killed but not before he tells you to locate his last unknown son, who can correct all the evil that is happening which consists of gates to Oblivion (hell) opening an letting all sorts of banter and yobbish creatures out onto the plais of Cyrodil. Hence forth ensures an amazing story which i won't spoil.
The game is set in the Province of Cyrodil in the land of Tamriel. Anyone who played the game of Morrowing on the XBOX or PC shouldknow what to expect from this game. The area is competely open, Bethesda say there is over 16 sq miles of this game and it sure shows. Unlike in morrowing where you had to walk EVERYWHERE (no joke, and it was a bigger world) you can warp around using the new fast travel ability which is immensly useful. However the heart of the game is EXPLORATION. You could follow the 10 - 20 hour main quest but the real juice of the game is everything else to do, Firstly there are 4 main guilds, being the fighters guild (slashy slashy), mages guild (flashy flashy), Theives Guilds (stashy stashy) and the Dark Brotherhood (just plain evil). All are worth doing plus the XBOX 360 version gives acheivements for progression in them. Other things include help out deadric Gods, being a Vampire and competeing in the arena. There are also about a 100 + other random quests including some truly original ones (like entering a waterpaint world through a painting and attacking watrepaint enemies). If none of those fancy your taste you can simply go an explore the area for caves, ruins, bandit camps and reap the rewards of your bravery, you may even want to go shut an Oblivion gate for fun, take a daytrip to hell...WHY NOT??? If THAT doesn't sound fun well you can go reap havok in towns by burgalarizing, killing, tresspassing, throwing pears at people, setting monsters on them, quite a few things really. Theres so much to do, why not buy a horse and jump it off a cliff into a lake see if it survives always a good laugh.
So thats what can do now HOW? well the game basically consists of running about killing stuff. This can be done in a number of ways, either using swords, axes, hammers, bows as a fighter or spells as a mage, which in clude all sorts of throwable stuff and summoning monsters etc in doing this you can also equip shields and block attacks.
Aside from the killing what else is there, well theres the stealth aspects, your charcter can become proficient at skeak and can do critical damage attacks from sneaking, the usage of spells is also an oprtion to give you camoflauge or make you invisible Asude from that there are other spell uses such as restoration spells to heal, alteration ones allowing you to walk on water and run faster among others. Other abilities alowing you to gather more information from people or sell at a higher price or fix armour....trust me there loads to do.
So does such an amazing game with unbelievable detail to gameplay have good graphics and sounds....Uhhhh...welll....Yep.
The GRAPHICS of the game are incredible, the amount of detail given to the little things such as the Flora and Fauna in the region is imcredible. Charcters have full voice ability and look in incredible with the correct facial expressions for the correct situations. The sound is great too, a nice quite soundtrack mixed with great fighting sequece music. Voice are great too however there are only about 30 or so different sets so you'll met audiobly similar people bar the special appearnace from Patrick Stewart (Star Trek) and Sean Bean (LOTR). Still great.
The LIFESPAN, put simply is massive as i showed earlier with all the stuff to do
Any problems? Well theres definetly a steep learning curve after the first 5 hours or so and blocking becomes imperitive to survival.
Stealth is often hard to achieve, and the beneifits of becoming a master of an ability aren't possible to reach, I've played 90+ hours and having mastered any thing yet, i have to work christ. Umm the annoyance of being killed by a Black Bear, Vampires making me one of them, That its not Online, It has a rather weak middle in the plot, the similarity in the different planes of Oblivion, and if you kept reading till now (I Thank you) NO FINAL ENDGAME BOSS arrgggh there was one last time whu not now huh huh well, look down in shame BETHESDA, i should give you a 0.0 right now for that but i'll let you off the hook this time.
Anyway, put simply if Jesus was a game this would be it, God of course is FF7.
