Who doesn't like epic? Epic story, epic setting, epic quests. From the beginning you are thrown into the story of Cyrodiil. The King of Tamirel crosses your path and forever changes your fate as an attempt on his life brings world changing events right at your feet. Thus starts the main quest of the game which charges you with the task of fighting back wave after wave of Daedric creatures pouring out of the dimension of Oblivion and ultimately putting an end to the war being waged on Cyrodiil-kind. With hundreds of NPCs, sides quests, items, many square miles of beautiful wilderness and multiple sprawling cities and towns this game is a vast and highly detailed world that allows you to spend hundreds of hours role-playing.

The character creation system is complex and top notch with 10 races, 13 birthsigns, 8 basic attributes and 21 skills to choose from, making your character a veritable fingerprint in terms of uniqueness. Straight combat, stealth tactics or complex magic are all at your command with weapons, tools and spells galore to aid you in your quests. This is the grandaddy of serious role-playing.

The GOTY edition comes with the add-ons Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine which add items, quests and even a whole new world to explore. You can spend time doing these alternate quests at any time, even from level one. There is more downloadable content that only adds to the replay value and variety of the game.
