Oblivion has had its fair share of additions what with horse armor and some new places to live. But with all that there was something missing. That is where the shivering isles comes in. The Shivering isles expansion pack adds a lot to the game without takeing anything away. Who can complain about that? Along with new weapons and new armor and new characters you can get a completely new main quest that is better than the original main quest or the knights of the nine quest. The shivering isles features a brand new island that is accessed through a portal near the town of bravil. It is owned by lord sheogorath who is a very interesting and fun character which contradicts what some might say but he is well acted and has funny lines such as : "I am so happy I could rip out ya intestines and then strangle ya with em'!" And the other characters are interesting and strange and are a good change from the boring small tack held by the cyrodill NPC's. The characters are usually pretty individual and have a unique illness mentaly usually. The shivering isles give you a double flavored ice cream cone of life...one side is called mania and has an alice in wonderland feel that is very surreal and slightly discomforting where as the dark side Dementia has the taste of a nigtmare swamp. Each side has thier distinct share of new and disgusting, dangerous, dasterdly, deadly, dark, daring creatures that can really give you a challange. The main quest of the shivering isles is imaginative and has some sweet momments it also has great rewards that make the gamer feel like he has accomplished something. The new weapons and armor not only look cool but add to the content (you can even gain a fork as a weapon!)..... The worst things I can say is that there is not a ligitamate house to actually live there and the sound can be bothersome when you talk to people and their mouths don't move.
Otherwise every oblivion fan should go check it out and see what is going down with this sweet new expansion of an already sweet game.
