Every so often a game comes around that changes the way you view video games. The change can be subtle, like a new development engine, or obvious like a new periferal. This game has changed how I look at videogames as a whole. This game is the pinicle of the western RPG, and everything that goes with it. You are the character. The choices you make are your own. There are no wrong choices, only the choices. The game is not to be taken lightly. You will spend huge amounts of time playing it. The game starts simple enough, but the instant you finish the (lengthy) tutorial you are thrown in head 1st. The game can be overwhelming. Luckily, there is no rush. I personaly haven't done much with the main quest. No, my level 12 orc assasin is the leader of the theives guild, the dark brotherhood, and the arena champion. I don't care what happens to the emporer, as long as I am rich and powerful. The best part is, the game doesn't penalize you for making these choices. The most stricking feature of this game is the graphics. This game is the closest to visual beauty you can see in a game. The graphics are unrivaled, and the freedom is amazing. The combat is satisfying, and the characters are life like. the dungeons are huge and forboding, and the citys are brimming with life. The only problems are that the AI can be a little strange (which is to be expected) and the game has an annoying way of making you pay for getting caught murdering or stealing. There is no way to get past the gaurds. They will get you, and that is annoying.
Pros: beautiful graphics, great combat, huge freedom, intricate areas, and great design round out a great game. The adjustable difficulty makes it easy for noobs, but also very hardcore
Cons: the AI can be a little wonky, the gaurds will chase you to death, some people (not me) had trouble with the autoleveling system.
