Gigantic, immersive and better than ever on the PS3

Many believe that quality comes before quality. Many think that quantity comes before quality. Oblivion settles the argument by combining the two, and making an epic game that now on the PlayStation 3 system, is more complete than ever before.

When it comes to the graphics in Oblivion, nothing can be said but...WOW. The player models and buildings are spectacular. The creatures and demonic images of the Oblivion realm look great. However, the graphics really shine when you are alone. Finding a river in the middle of a gigantic forest on a sunny day and just standing there is one of the most fun things you can do in this game, and that is simply amazing. The land looks beautiful, almost real, and fun to just look at. How many games can say that? Oblivion is one of the best looking games to date and will be for a while. It's good to see some developers can make use of the PS3 power.

The sound is just as good. There is a limited number of voices in the game, meaning that many characters will sound similar. Luckily, ever single scene of voice acting is done very well. These people are extremely convincing. Even better is the music. It actually adds to walking around in the woods. The quiet, serene music makes the walk through the empty areas awesomely fun.

The story is spectacular as well. The emperor of Tamriel and his sons are all assassinated. But wait, one is still alive, his name Martin. You have to save him, but when you get to Kvatch (the city he is in) a massive Oblivion gate is keeping you from entering. You shut down the gate and take Martin to a secret hide out. Much more happens afterward but......

Taking Martin to the hide out is most likely the last you will see of the main quest for a long time. The hook of Oblivion is it's vast gameplay. The land of Cyrodil is 16 square miles. That means if you walked from one corner to the other it would take you slightly over an hour and a half. Also, is the amount of stuff to do. There's the main quest, 4 guilds of quests, arena quests, miscellaneous quests, and exploration quests where you just explore caves and ruins. I did the math. If you do every quest at an average time of a half hour per quest the game would add up to about 250 hours of side missions and a 50 hour main ques. That's 300 hours of gameplay, and every second of it is a ton of fun.

Basically, Oblivion is fantastic. It's huge, beautiful, and most of all, fun.
