Well many people will tell you "give it time" my answer is sure, keep it back for a longer time in development before releasing it.
I played this during the betas and honestly bugs really were the least of my problems, I could live with them, fine they took some weeks to fix some but still bugs imo were not a major major issue for me and they were addressed soonish i should say.
There was a time when exploiters, bots and spammers were a major issue but it was also sorted out with some addons to block them and reporting the guilty parties.
The issues with ESO for me is the game is too linear, there is no deviation from main story be it the guilds or main quest, sure there are quests other than those main ones but I mean the game needs more things to do other than the quest grind...give more distraction that feels fulfilling...they created fishing but for what? you cant use the fishing in food, you cant get pets or really anything good, sure a bag now and then with a goody inside but really...there is just no sense of freedom to do nothing and feel its nice to do (if that makes sense)
Crafting...really not good, you learn traits in research but there are no recipes for crafting gear, there is no reason to farm for recipes thus and really no market at lower levels, you shouldn't even try to craft at lower levels because you waste resources you need for end game so really little point to craft before level 20 and then you wont use any blue, purple or yellow materials either since they too rare...so whats the point eh? all you do in crafting is train it, research just so you can use it at end game there is little reason to use it before then...its a fail imo.
You can belong to 5 guilds (and you really should) simply to exploit the market because your market only exists of those 5 guilds...there is no faction market...also your guild can be cross faction, you can have each of the 3 factions in one guild...why? Is it normal to chat with enemy factions? where is the immersion? they are you enemy yet even with having all factions in one guild you can do no events together...great...you can't group and do anything with your guildies if in diff factions...why not just leave the 5 guilds nonsense give one guild per faction per character and give faction auctionhouses or global.
Guild systems are non-existent you cant stack items in your guild bank you need to take them out stack them in your inventory and then add back to bank, never been fixed in the months i played this game. You permissions are very poorly designed, either you open your bank to a rank or not, you cant throttle how much is taken or have any bank tabs to limit members from taking things and no ranks to help you apart from the 4 including officer and GM.
I have suffered from various technical issues of game crashes or port issues and getting connection to the servers. Issues I have never had with other mmos. The game still uses 32bit architecture and crashes often happen in pvp areas where a lot of data is loaded but unable to retrieve without crashing the game.
Also some items that should be rare like motifs (items that let you craft a particular races items permanently) are just too easy to farm for, these items should be rare but in the time since launch I have collected at least 60+ motifs in the game excl the ones I used on several characters...making crafting of other races gear really not a special thing and not something you can exploit on the market either, since you can craft your race until you get a motif.
But what really nailed the coffin shut for me is the Veteran rank grind, after you complete you main story usually around level 50/VR1 you start your leveling into Veteran Ranks up to rank 12, but instead of having new content or areas to play your character (and faction) plays all the other faction quest content, as if you were of that faction...now think about this...this single thing Zenimax did killed the game for me and any replay value for rolling alts...it makes no sense whatsoever that a Daggerfall faction character can level through ebonheart pact or aldmeri dominion content AT ALL like you are one of them, all replay value of rolling AD or EP characters is lost on me, I want to roll an alt for the experience of the content as end game will be the same for everyone anyway, when it comes to new areas to grind in and doing trials (raids)
Zenimax were lazy and just through out some half assed solution to level players to VR12, instead of creating content for each faction they cooked up this lame excuse. I was very dissapointed and canceled my sub mostly due to this fact. Forget the aweful class skills system and many other issue I can name.
I pride myself as someone who does not need to lie to make a point and all I mention here is fact and exactly what happens in the game, the game does look amazing and it does give it huge appeal and I also feel the game has a lot of potential and they can fix all the issues I mentioned but doubt they would and personally I feel they should have had it more right than this wrong...simply because they had the source material out there of what people want from an mmo...I feel that they were greedy and lazy and if Zenimax tell you they wanted a unique game...they forget TES was always unique and all they should have done was take best practices and things people want from studies done by other mmos and implement them around the story of TES.
Maybe they can fix it, but I will wait maybe a year and see before I head back to try it.
