Game of the century. Skyrim delivers entertainment and an interesting story.

User Rating: 9.5 | The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim PC
Bethesda has developed many fantastic games. Even the Elder Scrolls series is a great feat itself, but as soon as Skyrim came out, it topped all of their games.

TES V: Skyrim takes place in the lands of Skyrim, where out of a sudden dragons appear and are destroying villages and brining fear to its citizens. You play as a character who is the dragonborn, Dovahkiin, that takes out on a quest to heed his/her call and defeat the dragons.

I havent played that many The Elder Scrolls games myself, although I own almost all of the games except for the very first game in the series. Yet I have only played Morrowind briefly and only watched my boyfriend slaughter random innocent creatures in the wild of Oblivion. Yet when I saw the first trailer for Skyrim I was really thilled for this new chapter in the world of The Elder Scrolls, maybe because the theme is rather Scandinavian-ish?

Either way, skyrim's engine is alike to games like Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas, obviously because it is the same engine, only improved in graphics and AI, to name a few. You play Skyrim by using the keyboard for movement and interaction and the mouse to attack with either left or right mouse button. All of the dialogues are voiced and when interacting with an NPC, you can choose different dialogue options that either change the course of the conversation or enable you to buy items from the shopowners.
What makes Skyrim interesting is the possibility to explore the world of Skyrim, eiter by foot or using the fast transition system (you have to explore the area already before you can use that feature, though). There is everything from caves, mines, small villages to larger cities with major quests that can change your character in different ways.

What makes Skyrim a really enjoyable experience is the possibilty to do whatever you want. You dont HAVE to follow the storyline to explore the lands and level up, but of course, if you want to benefit from the special abilities that you can get throughout the game, you would have to follow the story quests, but either way, you are free to do whatever you want.

Sadly, the game also contains a lot of bugs which can halter the experience with the game if you dont have the patience to go through them. I have so far encountered bugs such as my game shutting down prematurely or graphical bugs that makes the game look outrageously silly. Things like that happens, but the game works fine otherwise.

All in all, Skyrim is highly recommended game that is highly addictive and extremely well made. The graphics are beautiful, showing wonderful sceneries. Skyrim is a highly addictive game and I can only reccomend it if you enjoy a really good RPG game with open world possibilities and quests.
