Despite it's shortcoming, it's still the best game in the Elder Scrolls series to date.
The game engine Bethesda used in the past has been stripped down and built back up from the ground, and it really shows. Everything from the combat, the customization all the way to the way that the inhabitants of Skyrim go about their business really shines through on the new engine, and helps you to quickly become immersed within the expansive game world. The game offers over 300 hours of gameplay, and it's not hard to see how. The sheer wealth of quests is just mind blowing, although the mediocre main storyline doesn't take a great deal of time to complete, it's still enjoyable none the less.
Unfortunately the graphical and gameplay problems shine through just as much as the impressive improvements on the past games. Players will struggle with at times, anything from unbearable laggy gameplay to (thanks to the new update) dragons flying backwards and even spells not casting. I could go into all the other bugs or problems, but I don't want to deter future players that haven't got their copy yet.
In closing, this game is a masterpiece and easily one of the best games to come out in 2011, if not the best. Anyone that hasn't bought a copy of Skyrim I would strongly suggest waiting until the game is fixed. It may be a long wait still ahead, but it's more than worth it.
