Before Skyrim was released, I had high expectations for the game....Bethesda did a better job than even I expected.
The first Elder Scrolls game that I ever played or heard about was Oblivion. Once I played it, I became an Elder Scrolls fan and have been looking forward to Skyrim for many months. Now, it is finally out and I have been playing it whenever I can. My favorite Improvement from the last elder scrolls would have to be the setup of the pause menu and how easy it is to get around and find the items you want to keep or want to sell. Oblivion was tough for me and I was always trying to find things in my pause menu. The other great improvement I see is the quest system is much easier to maneuver and find quest locations much easier that Oblivion. I had a really tough time with the quests in Oblivion and many times I had to look up the solutions to quests online to even get to where I could complete tasks. This was very frustrating to me as I do not want it to be so hard that I cant figure it out for myself. Skyrim has done just the opposite and it is much easier to complete the quests and find the exact locations, items that you need to complete the quests. Another thing that helped with Skyrim are the huge dungeons that were made for the game. I have not come across any dungeons that have been the same as the last. This, for me, makes the game more adventurous and much more enjoyable than in the past. I really enjoy the puzzles in the dungeons and having to find the solution to the puzzles are a fresh new twist to skyrim and makes it feel more like an adventure.
The fighting in the game is Improved and I really enjoy the finishing cut scenes as it makes the character feel more powerful than in the past. I like to play as a battle mage and use one handed swords as my weapon of choice. One of the finishing moves is like a jumping stab to the neck like the starting cut scene in the movie Troy. I have not played any other way but the great thing about Elder scrolls games is you can play and do whatever you want to do. That is one of my favorite things about the game as much of the time i wander off the beaten path to search for new items to raise my alchemy and create better potions. Another thing I like is the way dragons can appear anytime and attack your character. This is sometimes scary when you are not prepared but makes for a great fight and makes the environment more realistic.
DRAGONS!!!- Skyrim has done the best job of any game I have ever played! The dragons are made with great detail and the battles are a challenge, but at the same time just pure fun. Most games have the final fight with a dragon and it is almost impossible to kill, but that is what separates skyrim from the rest...you can fight dragons all throughout the game, and they also reappear so you will be able to fight different ones later on.
I Recommend this game to anyone who loves a great action/adventure game. Hey, even if the only reason you want it is to battle dragons, you will not be disappointed.
