You start the game by creating your character and escape from an delicate situation, this time being an execution.
The main quest involves the player as the central character, which has to begin a long and dangerous journey in order to discover his true identity, Dragonborn. Among many talents he can kill dragons and take their souls, which can be used to unlock or upgrade dragon shouts for combat use. Dragon shouts spoken are in the language of the dragons.
Alongside the main quest there are many side quest's available, the most important being The Skyrim civil war, in which you can join either the Stormcloacks or the Imperial Legion, quest lines of The Companions, Mages Guild, Thief's Guild and The Dark Brotherhood.
Leveling is done in the same manner as in past games, using skills to level up. In addition to leveling up, there are also perks available, which allow for further improvement of one's fighting style. The major improvement to the gameplay, leveling and battle systems is the lack of restriction to the available number of skills one can use to level in equally manner, which means players can play without restriction a combination of mage, assassin and warrior.
The gameplay also benefits from cinematic finishing moves, depicting the player while delivering the death blow in an heroic stance. Finishing moves are also available to be used on dragons.
Sound effects and voice acting are back with same top quality, with major improvements to voice acting, each character having its own voice pattern this time.
Graphics as usual great, having a good amount of detail overall;the atmosphere of the region of Skyrim is perfectly brought to life.
Bethesda introduced the option to buy houses, invest in stores, advanced weapon and armor crafting, the possibility of getting married, and of course battling dragons.
Skyrim has its flaws, but none of them is punishing the overall game value.
There is tremendous amount of content in the shape of number of quest's, lot's of adventuring places such as dungeons, fortresses, caves, towers and dwemer ruins, new creatures are present in the game such as ice trolls, mammoths, giants, ice wrights, draugr, falmer and chaurus. Dragon battles are fun, rewarding, and addictive, constantly making the player to go in search for new adventures.
Skyrim is a must play for any RPG fan.
