150+ Hours with Skyrim, game works great after the latest patch!

User Rating: 9.5 | The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim PS3
I was a midnight adopter of skyrim when it first came out. As I played the game I noticed that around level 25 the game on the PS3 began to slow down and have a lot of performance issues. After not touching the game for months I tried giving the game a chance after the third patch. Luckily, this solved the issues and made the game playable all the way up to where I am now, level 50. The game does chug a little in some areas but nothing that would make you want to stop playing or get agitated. I have to say that this is probably one of the most enjoyable RPG's I have ever played in my life and it's insanely hard to put down the controller because there's always something new to do in Skyrim.

The graphics are amazing (minus some very crude textures), the soundtrack is very addictive and feels new even after 100 hours, and the ability to play in different styles is intriguing. With my level 50 character I attacked the game right off the bat as being a mage and then around level 35 things changed and now I'm an archer. I also felt that the games major quests were satisfying and that the overall atmosphere was a huge improvement over Oblivion. The characters seem far more realistic and although the structure of nearly all quests are the same (go here, kill this dude, grab this, come back, etc.) it feels like these quests affect the game more than previous titles. Sometimes how you treat people in a quest changes their attitude toward you for the rest of the game. For example, intimidate someone in a quest and down the road they will act hostile in tone towards you. Or, help someone out and then down the road when you are near them they will say nice things towards you like "it's a fine day with you around".

Overall, I can not recommend this game enough now that it's actually working. You can shape a character in many different ways and you will easily have 100+ hours of FUN gameplay so your money on Skyrim goes a lot further than many other titles out there. The only reason I do not give the game a perfect 10 is because on a rare occasion the game will glitch on you, such as seeing a dead dragon spawn in the walls of a building. But,when most glitches only happen once and never again there's not much there you can complain about. Plus, the game saves two or three autosaves for you so if you need to go back in time a little bit more than your recent save that's doable.

Buy the game, go on an incredible journey in one of the most immersive worlds ever seen in gaming history, have fun slaying tons of dragons, and then do it all over again with someone completely different!
