Basically an interactive Guy Ritchie gangster movie.

"The Getaway" is loaded with cutscenes that are similar to Guy Ritchie's hard boiled British gangster movies. The narrative is done well, but the gameplay is lacking and the control mechanics are horrible. This isn't "Grand Theft Auto", though you can steal cars and spend alot of time shooting. Nope, it's more like "Driver"; very linear. Overall, it's about 10-12 hours long and you play as two characters, a cop and a crook, but the gameplay is the same either way.

Unfortunately, vehicles don't move fast and there is no GPS. You have to rely on the car's blinkers to manuver to the right location. That can be a real hassle. And so can the ability to self-heal; you have to lean yourself against a wall while bad guys come blasting in. The targeting is just okay; it's a free aiming system. The game can be boring, but gangster movie fans will want to see it the end.
