The Godfather: The Don's Edition Brief Review
User Rating: 8.5 | The Godfather: The Don's Edition PS3
Anyone who says the PS3 version is no different to the PS2 version is completely wrong. Graphically, it is far superior and looks fantastic on a large high definition screen. The dynamic weather effects look great, the buildings, character models, vehicles and insides of buildings look lovely (Perhaps not up to the same standard as Call of Duty 4 or Uncharted 2, but a major improvement from the PS2 version). Is it worth upgrading if you have already played the PS2 version? My answer is definitely. The combat animations and explosions are absolutely stunning. The audio has been improved (both music and surround effects). The game is bigger than the original and a tougher challenge. Not to mention extra missions and new additions such as the option to have a 'bodyguard'. I personally have played this game a fair amount and enjoy the fact that there are two strategies you can follow, for example, all out combat using the enforcer style or by blackmail and subterfuge using the operator path. All in all, if you enjoyed the PS2 version, but I highly recommend for you to upgrade to this version, you won't be disappointed. Similarly, for The Godfather fans who haven't played it previously, this is a must.
