This game for NES was so complex, that I had to play it with another friend of mine. I controlled the game while they looked in the Nintendo guidebook to tell me where to go and what to do. Without this book, I would have never been able to figure this game out. For the age group in which it was specified, it was just too hard. For an older gamer, this one's a blast. Armed with just a yo-yo as your weapon (with upgrades though out the game) you fight monsters and the Fratelli's with the goal of freeing "Annie". There are some other weapons in the game such as moltov cocktails and bombs. There are very few hints contained in the game on where Annie is and how to gain the various items throughout the game. Finding these various items made you re-trace you steps many times and no matter how long you worked on a level, you always left with the feeling that you had missed something. With all that aside, I really loved this game and played it a lot. The graphics where good, for the time period, and the music was fun (with Cyndi Lauper’s “Good Enough” being used for levels on the surface). It doesn’t appear to be a very popular game, but at the time of its release “Goonies” was THE movie.
