Disney's Magical Quest series is one of those series that you may have heard of or never even heard of at all when it comes games being developed by certain game companies over the years that have worked with Disney the likes of Sega, Travellers Tales and even Capcom. Magical Quest series was made by Capcom during 1992-2003 on the SNES. From what I've read online from gamers and retro fans the series itself is one of those franchises that is worth checking out praising on its colorful graphics and animation but this was back in the 90's when it came to games being released on the SNES.
However the series got re-released again in 2002-2005 but this time on the Game Boy Advance with a few changes taken in and out when it comes to Magical Quest 2, plays more like an arcade game trying to be a platformer like Super Mario Bros on terms of gameplay when it comes to jump-platforming and choosing to play as either Mickey or Minnie. You can jump on enemies and of course grabbing them and throwing them at other enemies you see on the screen; you can change back and forth when it comes to changing outfits each of the four outfits each have a different ability like the sweeper outfit can vacuum up enemies and they can either turn into coins or batteries, or the safari outfit can make you climb up walls or swing across certain kind of circle blocks.
If you've played the original you'll notice that the Game Boy remake has taken out the password has been removed and instead you've now got a save system instead meaning that you could save your game at any time, this is a nice idea for some gamers if they want to play Magical Quest when you’re out and about. Another feature added in the GBA version that you can play 2 player co-op if you have a GBA link cable, and there are no mini-games in the remake.
I do love the colorful graphics and level designs for Magical Quest 2 plus the gameplay is fun and challenging too I would recommend playing this game on Hard if you want a good challenge because this is indeed short you can easily finish this game within a day but the bosses can be a challenge just pending on what difficulty you play it on. It would have been nice if they put more effort in the GBA version but it's still worth checking out but just be aware that this game can be a little easy on gameplay.
