Fun Timewaster!

Most players in today's world of Halo, etc. would find this game rather juvenile and simplistic. I found it to be a charming little time-waster and some of the puzzles in this game were quite challenging! The graphics are fantastic, the characters while a bit repetitive, grow in difficulty along with your abilities. This game is honest: you are Bilbo Baggins, a burglar and sneak and as such your job is to do just that, sneak, steal and solve. Your small stature allows you to get into places the others in your journey cannot. Most of the time you are quite on your own and must solve puzzles and traps and creepy crawlies to advance. Over all a very fun game to play.
There are only 2 things that annoyed me to no end. The first is the really cranky camera! It made some of the more difficult jumps almost impossible! The camera seemed to have a life of its own and was unwieldy and difficult to work with. Being able to “see through” a wire frame version of Bilbo is NOT helpful when trying to judge a jump! The other is the inability to go back to previous levels to try and get stuff you missed. Some of the fun of these RPG’s is the larger puzzle of using something you pick up in say Level 8 to get something you get in Level 6.
Overall it is a fun game and it’s one of the few games my wife likes to watch me play because of the “storybook” way the game unfolds. She likes that.
