This is one of the best if not the best superhero game made in a long time. The Gameplay in this game involves what else but what the title says, ultimate destruction. There are many different gameplay elements in this game all of which will keep you entertained. This game seems to have a decent story. This game has plenty of combat to raise your interest. The traveling is a lot of fun too. There are just a few issues in this game that upset me. But let's get to the story first. In this latest superhero game you play as Bruce Banner a renowned scientist who has been exposed to gamma radiation, which has given him super powers. These powers feed off of his rage and turn him into the hulk a big green muscle bound beast. When you start the game Bruce Banner is of course looking for a cure because he does not want to hurt anyone any more. Near the beginning of the game Banner is attacked by the U.S. military. Once Banner leaves the cabin he was in, which is on fire, a Dr. Blonsky grabs a sample Bruce had with him of the same stuff that turned him into the Hulk. So Blonsky turns into this abomination(in his own words), and wants to capture Banner to find a cure, but he is slowly becoming twisted by his new found self. The shining part of this game is the gameplay though. The combat in this game is actually pretty layed-out. Moves can range from picking up a tank and swinging it around or you can rip a car in half and turn them into steel gloves for your fists. You can pick up a bus and turn it into a shield. The weapon combat is almost endless. The weapon-less combat can be just as fun to and sometimes even more destructive. You can pound the ground sending shock waves through the ground and destroying rows of cars in the process. You can also do an elbow drop off a building which also causes huge damage. The list for that goes on and on as well. During your little mayhem you cause you'll come across gamma energy, which is for health, and the best thing you get in the game, Critical Mass. Critical Mass is a huge burst of energy that destroys everything around you for a block or two. After causing so much damage the army will send a strike team, which gets harder to beat as you progress. Traveling is another big thing about gameplay on here. Running around as the Hulk can be pretty fun in this huge environment. You have plenty of options as far as travel goes. You can jump building to building, leaping at "incredible" feats. You can even run on buildings and jump building to building while continuing to run on them. My favorite way to get around though is just going along the ground and plowing right through the traffic. This game is great but could be better, as there are issues with it that bring it down a little. This game has some pretty upsetting problems. The worst enemy in the game is the camera. In this game you will find yourself so lost when you can not see a thing that is going on in the game. Once you get so far, you start to get in fights with some big mechs and when you fight them you can not see your character when they stand right on top of you. The camera is the worst thing when you are running from an enemy, you will be trying to run up a building when the camera rotates and end up running off the building by accident. Another thing that can be frustrating is when you find yourself trying to get place to place and you hit the attack button for an extra jump and go flying down fifty feet to attack a police car that you do not want to. The targeting system is another downer, sometimes you want to switch who you attack and it will not let you, this is extremely aggravating when you fight strike teams, and want to take out the heavy damage dealers first. I almost forgot how bad the loading can be, there is a lot of loading which can make you mad for trying the bonus missions. This game still pulls it off. Despite some flaws this game can be enjoyed for many hours. The story was good enough. The combat was awesome and done very well. Traveling was as fun as web slinging on the last spider-man game. The game had a few inconveniences in it. This game was really good, and I think developers could take a page or two from these guys for super hero games. If they ever make another Rampage game they could learn something from these guys.
