Perhaps better suited as a jumping-off point for newcomers than existing fans, Dog Mendonça and Pizza Boyis a perfectly serviceable game in its own right but falls just short of the mark set by the graphic novels.
The Good:
- Visual design is richly detailed
- Music sets the perfect tongue-in-cheek gumshoe mood
- Supernatural world of the graphic novels is well represented
The Bad:
- Story fails to create any impetus to drive the action forward
- Overly explicit hint system for fairly simple puzzles
- Too tame to fully capitalize on its source material
