A great collection well worth the price, a must have for kof and 2D fighters fan in general.

User Rating: 9.5 | The King of Fighters Collection: The Orochi Saga PSP
"Kof Collection - the Orochi Saga" incorporates in one UMD kof '94 -'95 - '96 - '97 and '98.
What makes this game great is the fact that, in my opinion, all five games included are ported well in the psp, yes it is a little harder pulling off special moves or chaining them in a combo due to the d pad in the psp, but with a bit of practice it can be done, the game offers a very good training mode where accessing the moves list is very practical, so all it takes is a little patience and effort and you will be performing those moves like you would on an arcade machine or on your console pad.

The game also offers a challenge mode that is very varied and goes from easy to normal to hard, it consist in a series of bouts where you have to meet certain conditions, some are like time trials, some are survival-ish, all in all they are challenging enough, you will be able to clear some at first go and some will take a bit more effort, but they are all doable with a little practice and what I think is best, they are all fair and never cheap, you never feel like you have been overwhelmed by the conditions or the criteria of them. After clearing any challenge you would have unlocked some art work and some of the soundtrack, while many will not care, I found it a nice touch and rewarding enough to keep you interested.

As for the arcade modes, I believe they translated well for an hand-held and will keep you playing for a fairly long while, the difficulty level goes from 1 to 4 with 1 being really easy and 4 being just hard enough. I am still playing it since I got it more than three months ago, I personally like viewing all the endings for each team in each game, and now I explain why I scored it 9.5 and not 10, the game is good in all aspects, yes the loading times are longer than what anyone would like but don't forget five games have been cramped in one UMD so in my opinion, they are acceptable, though the only thing that would have made this game a masterpiece, in my books, would have been some sort of ending theater where you can view the endings for each game at will, for the rest, I recommend this game to anyone who is into KOF, 2D fighting games, or fighting games in general, if graphics and loading times are not a priority to you and you prefer gameplay over eyecandy, or you are simply a nostalgic 90s gamer like myself " kof the Orochi Saga" has a lot to offer to you.

I live in Sydney and I could not have found it anywhere here so I bought it in Italy for 25 euros, if you are willing to get it and you live in Australia, eBay is most probably the way to go.

I apologize in advance for any mistakes, this is my first review and English is not my first language.
Game hard everyone.
