I am baffled by the number of negative reviews on the LOU2. Frankly, life is not is fair! We have to learn to agree to disagree on things. Can we, at a minimum, agree that this game was a roller coaster ride? Can we accept that it left us with memorable and unforgettable moments? Can we agree that we had to finish it (at least I did) because the events of the game stimulated our interest? I, like many of you, was shocked at some of the critical moments in the game. A piece of my died when "that moment" happened. That's life!
What I appreciate about this game is that it took bravery and creativity that threw a curveball so out of the left-field that I, too, was filled with anger. As I played LOU2, I used that anger to slice further, dice, blow up, and mutilate various fictional characters. For me, the underlying theme of revenge, redemption, and forgiveness plays a significant part in the storyline and character development. I didn't care too much about Abby, but I was curious as to what would happen when that "collision" took place. In the end, I felt that Ellie did the right thing. Let's not forget that Abby was too a victim, and she was part of the vicious cycle of redemption. I think the element of forgiveness helps elevate both characters. I'm curious, what comes next?
I've learned not to fall in love with characters (Thanks Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, and Breaking Bad). If you were to ask me, would you play the LOU3, because you want to see how the story ends? You bet I would! Thanks to Naughty Dog for an unforgettable experience.
