An RPG-Game for the books.
I got this game way back on its first release here in the U.S and here it is now 2007 and i decided to give the game another look. And again it has got me hooked, despite the old graphics the story and the gameplay keep me tied to this game. What has really hooked me was the "additionals". I thought this was an extemely good idea as i have never experienced an rpg with that. Its usually just you selecting the attack button on most rpgs and watch your character execute a one hitter. But with The Legend Of Dragoon, you are able to add on!! (with perfect timeing of course). But whats a game without a good story? I admit to the gamespot review that the characters kinda relate to the power rangers due to the color coding, but hey i think sony did a good job incorporating the characters in the plot of the game. In fact Dart is a pretty cool looking lead character!! I like games that fork over cool frontman in games, such as snake from mgs series or dante from dmc games. Nicely designed characters for a ps game if you ask me. One thing I wasnt too fond of was how you were limited to carrying only 32 items, i know that makes it more of a challenge but still I found myself wanting more items in more than one occasion. But to compencate for this disadvantage you could heal your character by gaurding!! not only healing a decent amount of health but halving enemy attacks as well. When i played FFX i found myself trying to gaurd to gain health haha! Speaking of that game I liked the fact you change out your teammates mid battle, this wouldve been a good addition in the legend of dragoon. Overall this game was/is good. despite the poor graphics compared to the games now a days, it still keeps me entertained. Definitely a game for the books!! It should be labeled as one of the best rpgs of all time, as i agree with the ppl who say this.
